A numerous number of new Gundam products make their appearance! The “56th Annual Shizuoka Hobby Show” in Twin Messe Shizuoka begins today!

The “56^th Annual Shizuoka Hobby Show,” the largest plastic model and hobby trade fair, begins today, May 11^th (Thurs), and will continue until the 14^th (Sun) at Twin Messe Shizuoka in the Shizuoka.
Public days consist of two days on May 13^th (Sat) and the 14^th (Sun). Admission is free.

The Shizuoka Hobby Show is a large hobby event that attracts over 70,000 attendees annually. This year, famous domestic manufacturers of products such as plastic models, radio controlled cars, and railway models will gather all in one building. Many new products will be announced by each company.
A gathering of the works that model fans from all over the country pride themselves in will be featured at the “28^th Annual Modelers’ Club Exhibition” and the “Modelers’ mini Flea Market” and is scheduled to be held at the event as well.

The Bandai booth features the latest Gunpla from the new anime Gundam Build Fighters: GM’s Counterattack and short film project Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue, the latest project of the Gundam Build Fighters series, as well as the “Full-scale Unicorn Gundam Statue” that is scheduled to be put on display beginning this fall in Odaiba, Tokyo. The mega size model and real grade “Unicorn Gundam,” which will go on sale in August, will also be on display.

Additionally, Gunpla as well as character models that are not Gunpla that are linked to various Gundam series will also be on display in numerous numbers. These series include Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Steel Moon, the second season of the currently streaming Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight AXIS, which is scheduled to begin streaming from June 23^rd (Fri), Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN: Clash, Battle of Loum, scheduled to screen in theaters countrywide starting from September 2^nd (Sat), and more that are scheduled to be revealed in the May release of Hobby Japan and Gundam Ace.

■ “Gunpla Builders World Cup 2017” Exhibition!

The “Gunpla Builders World Cup (GBWC)” is a world tournament that began in 2011 to determine the world’s best Gunpla builder. The tournament’s purpose is to act as a connection between Gunpla fans from Asia and overseas by promoting the charms of craftsmanship and market expansion through Gunpla. It has been decided that the 7^th annual tournament “Gunpla Builders World Cup 2017” will also be held this year with 16 participating countries and regions, the most participants in the history of the event thus far.

Web applications to enter the Japan tournament begin on May 16^th (Tues) on the “Bandai Hobby Site” while applications will also be accepted at any time at “Bandai Hobby Pro-shop” affiliated stores nationwide from July 1^st (Sat.) A representative will be selected from Gunpla users across Japan to challenge champions gathered from all around the world.
