Director Yoshiyuki Tomino makes his voice acting debut under the name "Tsubasa Iogi" in Gundam Recongquista in G's finale!
Plus, the legendary director himself writes of the final scene's meaning!
Director Yoshiyuki Tomino will make his voice acting debut as "Tsubasa Iogi" in the final episode of Gundam Reconguista in G, airing this week in MBS's Animeism block.
The director metaphorically lowered the curtain on the show, recording in the presence of the regular cast after their roles were completed. Recording proceeded in the lighthearted, friendly way a finale should, with genial banter between between unit director Ko Matsuo and Tomino.
Don't miss his performance in the finale!

"The Meaning of the Finale" / Creator and Director Yoshiyuki Tomino
While following the theme of "using Gundam to move beyond Gundam", I came to ponder the reasons for war. The soldiers and pilots who kill and are killed in turn bear no ill will toward each other. When war breaks out, they do no more than fight the foe they're forced to confront.
Without their implements of murder, without a battlefield, they're no different from any other human. This is the truth of battles near and far, ancient and modern.
Why, then, war? The answer lies in underlying political and economic problems. It lies in the decisions of politicians. Perhaps this war is nothing more than terrorism on a grand scale? This is the message that I hope I can convey to the boys and girls watching.
