A Transformation Recreation with Light & Mobile Gimmicks! Odaiba’s “Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue” Display Opens Sept. 24th!
A special photo deck will open on August 26th! As well as various other events!
It was announced that the “Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue” in DiverCity Tokyo Plaza’s Festival Plaza will finally be open for display on September 24th (Sun) in Odaiba, Tokyo.
The Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue will go by the name “RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver.TWC (TOKYO WATER FRONT CITY)” and its transformation from Unicorn Mode to Destroy Mode will be recreated as accurately as possible during its staging at night.
You can enjoy the realistic statue through lighting in 50 different areas in addition to gimmicks such as the opening and closing of its horn, changing head modes, and the expansion of its shoulder, waist, and knee parts. Furthermore, new decals by mechanic designer Hajime Katoki have also been added.

Additionally, a wall projection collaboration with the statue will conducted by the popular production company Wall-G after its grand opening. A trailer shop called “GUNDAM TRAILER SHOP” that will sell products related to the Gundam series is also scheduled to open.
Various events such as an installation of a special photo deck and a camera app utilizing AR for fans who cannot wait for the completion of the statue will be conducted at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. Definitely please check them out.

A photo deck will be installed in front of the statue in Symbol Promenade Park as part of the “TOKYO Gundam Project 2017” from August 26th (Sat) to November 26th (Sun).
In addition to being able to freely take a photo of the Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue, an original sheet printed with your photo taken by a photographer will also be sold. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take a commemorative photo in the best position together with the statue before or immediately following its grand opening.

The GUNDAM TRAILER SHOP, a trailer-type shop that will carry products related to Gundam, will open on September 24th (Sun) at Festival Plaza.
In addition to selling merchandise, the shop will have a facility description of GUNDAM BASE TOKYO as well as a mini corner that will introduce the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn series. Business hours will be from 10:00am to 9:00pm.

A camera application for smartphones is now being distributed through the App Store and Google Play. When you touch “AR” on the lower left corner of the application screen to activate its AR function, then hold your camera above your head to the installed markers or animations in front of the under construction Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue, a completed Unicorn Gundam Statue (AR image) will appear on-screen. You will be able to take a photo of the image of the statue before everyone else.
Furthermore, characters that appear in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn will appear when you face your camera with the app’s AR function activities to posters installed in 8 character photo spots inside DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. A service to take a commemorative photo with these characters is also currently ongoing.
