“VR ZONE SHINJUKU,” the largest domestic VR facility developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, opened on July 14th (Fri) in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
VR ZONE SHINJUKU is an all-new VR entertainment facility that succeeds “VR ZONE Project iCan,” which was open for a limited time in Odaiba, Tokyo in 2016. An opening ceremony was also held with Ms. Akemi Darenogare and Woman Rush Hour as special guests in addition to the invited executive guests. Numerous attendees and reporters had crowded the venue.
Without further ado, let’s go into a photo report of the day of the opening ceremony and its immediate rise in energy and excitement.
▲ The ceremony began with greetings from the guests. Charmain Mototsugu Katagiri of the Kabukicho Shopping District Association spoke of his joy of the facility’s opening as he was relieved Kabukicho became bright and fun.
▲ Shinjuku Mayor Yoshizumi congratulated VR ZONE SHINJUKU on becoming a facility that will give fans pleasure and satisfaction as a new famous landmark of Shinjuku.
▲ Bandai Namco Entertainment President and Representative Director Oshita let his confidence slip through as he stated the facility would be one where attendees can experience the best hospitality that will make you say “ah!” in surprise.
▲ The three guests were unable to contain their excitement as they had just finished personally experiencing the activities at the facility. Mr. Muramoto of Woman Rush Hour expressed what he felt about his VR experience even down to his feelings, “It feels like hopping, stepping, or warping would be enough to suddenly go into the future.”
▲ The projection mapping began following the cutting of the tape. It signals a brilliant grand opening.
▲ Once the ceremony was over, attendees were chosen through raffle to enter the facility one after another. Chief Tamiya and Head Chief Koya, the faces of VR ZONE, welcomed the attendees.
There is a total of 15 kinds of fascinating activities at VR ZONE SHINJUKU, starting from “Gundam VR Daiba Assault,” where you can realistically experience the world of creative works. The entire facility can be enjoyed as an entertainment space with a restaurant area, original merchandise area, and daily projection mapping on the building’s outer walls.
