During the Cyber-Physical System (CPS)/Internet of Things (IoT) “CEATEC JAPAN 2017” meeting held in the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, the interactive AI communication robot “Gunshell Haro” was presented to the public for the first time.
This year marks the 18th time the “CEATEC JAPAN” is held, and the subject of the fair revolves around “A connected society, a future we can develop together”, with many organisations, industries and manufacturing corporations taking part to the event. They will showcase Japan’s growth strategy and future to the world.
At the event, the “IoT Town 2017” Bandai Namco booth presented “Play with the future! With Future”, introducing their plan to create a more fun way to communicate, thanks to the expanding possibilities offered by the duo “Technology × Entertainment”.
The first batch of items presented is the “Gunshell Haro”, developped by the IT Entertainment Service Brand “BN - BOT PROJECT”, confronted by the Bandai Namco Group.
This time they presented a movable prototype for the “Gunshell Haro”. Both eyes and mouth light up, while its ears flap the whole body wobble around with cute motions, but more importantly, you can have fun interacting with it by having a real conversation.
Haro is voiced by the same actress who performed in “Mobile Suit Z Gundam” theatrical trilogy and “Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN”, Arai Satomi. Arai’s voice is modified with a synthetic sound to recreate Haro’s speech. Haro will tell you basic information about Gundams and it will also propose you a quiz! If you happen to visit the fair, don’t forget to stop by and have a chat with it!
CEATEC JAPAN 2017 is until October 6th (Friday).
