It has been decided that AnimeJapan 2018 and Family Anime Fest 2018, the world’s largest anime events that gathers anime-affiliated companies, organizations, and contents that represent the country both domestically and overseas, will be held at Tokyo Big Sight in March 2018.
■ Full of 5th Anniversary Projects! AnimeJapan 2018
AnimeJapan will be approaching its 5th anniversary in March 2018. This year, the event will be further expanded after the previous year ended in a huge success. The event will be full of 5th anniversary projects such as the opening of all stages and expanding to a total of five stages, 5th anniversary characters, and the implementation of an AnimeJapan broadcasting station booth.
March 22nd (Thurs) and the 23rd (Fri), 2018 will be business days while the 24th (Sat) and the 25th (Sun) will be public days. Admission tickets are scheduled to go on sale at the end of January 2018.
▲ In commemoration of the 5th anniversary is the birth of the event’s first mascot characters, the AJ Siblings! They are scheduled to appear on Twitter and other media in the future.
Main Area Plan Details (East Halls 1 – 8)
[AJ Open Stage] 5th Anniversary
As part of the 5th anniversary celebration, attendees are able to freely view any stage (※1). Furthermore, the event has increased to a total of five stages (※2) with various stages such as announcements and talk events for the latest anime series as well as concerts unfolding on stage.
(※1) The front stage will be reserved-seats. This will be the same as previous events and will be by an advanced entry and lottery system.
(※2) There are two stages each that are scheduled to have a seating capacity of 1000 and 500 people while one stage will have a seating capacity of 250 people.
[Food Park]
The popular Food Park that satisfied the stomachs and hearts of the attendees is back. Collaboration menus of popular anime series that are fun to look at and deliciously unique to AnimeJapan will be sold. Details on the menu will be announced at a later date.
[Cosplayers’ World]
An even more improved cosplay area will be implemented in East Hall 8 and include events such as the super popular official backdrop installations and a Cosplay Parade that attendees can participate in.

[Official Goods] 5th Anniversary
The “Traditional Crafts x Anime” Premium Collaboration Goods that are popular every year is scheduled to sell products that were popular at previous AnimeJapans as 5th anniversary-only reprints. The AJ Gacha will also sell tin badges with various designs from popular titles to the latest series.
[AnimeJapan Broadcasting Station Booth] 5th Anniversary
The AnimeJapan Broadcasting Station Booth will open in the venue as a special 5th anniversary project. Various AnimeJapan information that will be useful for attendees will be dispatched from the booth alongside scheduled talks with invited guests.
[“Manga I Want to Become Anime” Booth]
A continuation of the “Manga I Want to Become Anime” Booth is also scheduled to be implemented at AnimeJapan 2018!
Creation-related Plan Details (in the Main Area)
A creation-related project unique to AnimeJapan will focus not only on those who watch anime, but also those who create it. This year, the full exhibition will dig deep into the creation of anime.
[Production Works Gallery]
The Production Works Gallery will display the techniques and glamor of anime production through a gallery format with the theme “admiring the creation of anime.” This year, the gallery will focus on CG anime and will contain contents where you can learn about the production spaces of the latest anime.
[Presentation Stage]
A workshop-like seminar where attendees can receive advice directly from creators currently at the forefront of the industry is scheduled to be held.
[ROAD TO The Anime Industry]
Those who have interest in creating anime, those who are trying to produce anime, those who want to try working in anime companies, and more will be guided on the path to the anime industry AnimeJapan-style. Details will be announced at a later date.
Business Area Plan Details (Conference Tower 1F Reception Hall)
The development of a better business environment and effective projects for businesses will be conducted in the Business Area with the “expansion and growth of anime-related business market” as a starting point. This area will also continue efforts in the revitalization of domestic businesses using anime contents as a location for valuable business discussions with overseas partners and will be a place where many business opportunities will be born.
[Anime Business Concierge]
A counter that will assist in various types of consultations such as inquiries from outside companies working with animation businesses for the first time and various anime business-related consultations that appear easy to complicate.
[Domestic Business Revitalization Measure]
A project that will assist those who are launching and those who wish to launch businesses utilizing anime with a focus in domestic businesses is scheduled to be implemented.
[Overseas Business Revitalization Measure]
Prominent overseas buyers will be invited to the event. This will create valuable negotiation opportunities with anime businesses for these overseas partners.
■ Family Anime Festa 2018 Is 1.5 Times Larger!
Family Anime Festa 2018, a family-only area that will be free to enter for those aged elementary school and younger as well as their guardians, will be held on March 24th (Sat) and the 25th (Sun), 2018 in East Hall 7. The area will be held in a space that is approximately 1.5 times larger than last year.

A unique corner distinctive to Family Anime Festa where one can take pictures and walk around.
[Kids Workshop Corner]
Kids can experience firsthand the production of original merchandise for popular anime series and how anime is made.

Here, kids can enjoy taking pictures together with mascot characters.
[Family Food Park]
The park will sell a warm and delicious menu. The previously popular resting space where attendees can take off their shoes and relax will also be installed.
