Story
Universal Century 0079. Side 3, the space colony furthest from Earth, has adopted the name Principality of Zeon and has declared a war of independence against the Earth Federation government. A battle more than a month after the outbreak of war brings about the death of half the total population of both the Principality of Zeon and the Federation Forces, resulting in a stalemate at the battlefront. The Federation Forces find themselves at a disadvantage due to being confronted by Mobile Suit Zaku, the Zeon Forces’ mobile weapon, and it leads them into developing the prototype Mobile Suit Gundam. However, the Zeon Forces soon pick up on these developments and attack Side 7 where the final tests for the suit are taking place. Amidst the confusion, the young boy Amuro boards the Gundam.
